The ultimate filling for comfort and safety
The ULTRASPRING® range of products are a unique blend of polyester fibres that contain conjugate hollow fibres designed specifically to provide the ultimate in filling materials for both comfort and safety.
Conjugate fibres are defined as the ‘co-extrusion’ of two different polymers to produce a bicomponent fibre that is able to combine the properties of both materials to provide particular performance characteristics. The variation in the cooling pattern of the extruded polymers provides a ‘spring like’ or three dimensional appearance to the fibres when seen at close hand.
This ‘spring like’ appearance of the hollow conjugate fibre is designed to resist compression much like the springs seen in everyday life. The hollow cross section of the fibre provides the addition of a high comfort factor that compliments this resistance.
All the ULTRASPRING® range of products are clean, odourless, breathable and non allergenic and additionally demonstrate low moisture uptake levels. All conform to the Furniture and Furnishing (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.
All of our covers and fillings conform to BS5852. Every cushion is batch numbered and a record maintained by the manufacturer or importer of the production date.
All of the fabrics and fillings used have a fire certificate after testing and every batch of fabric is individually tested and a 'Pass Certificate' received and filed for future reference and inspection by Trading Standards if required.
Our cushion fillings are tested on a regular basis by the UK Manufacturers and all test results are kept.
As any cushions may be stored or used inside or outside the house they all come under the same fire & safety standard criteria, therefore our Garden Furniture cushions come under this law even though they are intended for outdoor use.
BS5852 became law in 1988 following the realisation that deadly fumes from burning or smouldering polyurethane foam fillings can cause death.
Some Glencrest Seatex fabrics have been treated with DuPont Teflon Coating to enhance their ability to protect against dirt, rot, mould and fading.
Wetguard is a fabric treatment that has been developed exclusively by Glencrest Seatex. The waterproof treatment allows you to leave any Wetguard fabric outside during light showers. Look out for the Wetguard logo on certain products.
Please note: Wetguard relates to the fabric, water may still be able to enter a product through the zipping or stitching.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international network to promote responsible management of the world's forests. FSC brings people together to find solutions to the problems created by bad forestry practices and to reward good forest management. Environmentally appropriate forest management ensures that the harvest of timber retains the forest's biodiversity and ecology.
Socially beneficial forest management helps both local people and society at large to enjoy long term benefits and also provides strong incentives to local people to sustain the forest resource. Economically viable forest management means that forest operations are structured and managed so as to be sufficiently profitable, without generating financial profit at the expense of the forest resources, the ecosystem or affected communities
